- Edit the SDM gdb by adding any fields not already present or in a different field type than the original data. Loading the data requires (in most situations) the 'from' and 'to' fields to be the same type: long integer, short integer, double, date, string (text), etc.

- Add subtypes to splice points, additional cable, support structures, path, and path access as needed

- Load your data into the SDM gdb using the Load Objects tool. Assign original feature class fields to SDM feature class fields in order to transfer data in addition to features
