CrescentLink Desktop v.5.0 User Guide Series
Checking for Updates
Introduced in CrescentLink v5.0.1, the ability to automatically check for updates now exists to make it easier to stay up-to-date with the latest release of CrescentLink Desktop. By default, update checks are done automatically when ArcMap is started. If an update is found, a prompt is displayed with two options of "Download and Install", or "Maybe Later" along with the option to turn off the automatic update checks as seen below:
If "Download and Install" is selected, the latest version of CrescentLink will be downloaded. Once the download completes, you will be prompted to save edits (if editing) and to save the map document before ArcMap is automatically closed and the new install will begin. If you unchecked the "Check for updates automatically" option and later wish to turn them back on, you can do this by opening the "About CrescentLink" form from the CrescentLink menu.
Note: Administrator privileges are required to install CrescentLink Desktop.
In addition to the automatic checks, the ability to manually check for updates can be done at anytime by clicking on the "Check for updates" command on the CrescentLink menu from the CrescentLink toolbar as shown below:
